So...government officials have been comfortable enough telling people they can't work and if their lives and businesses go under, well, so be it. In NYC, the government is telling people NOT to worship and it's actually led to protests among religious people.
So...does everything work that way in NY? Well, for the second time, I've heard that during the height of the pandemic AND even now, what's going on in NY hospitals.
Hospital employees are tested often for covid randomly. At two hospitals that I heard of, and I'm willing to assume that this is the "policy", if the employee tests positive, what would you think would happen? Well, what actually happens is that the person is asked, "how do you feel," and, if the person, often enough an hourly worker with no paid sick time, says they feel fine, they're allowed to go back to work in the hospital! And, by "in the hospital," I mean everywhere....all departments.
Have I missed this in the news as part of the extensive reporting about covid? In March, for what it's worth, I was told if all the positive hospital people stayed home, they wouldn't be able to run the hospital. Now...not the case. It's amazing what's really happening with this. And, yeah, masks don't work but, citizens have been revealed and turned into nothing more than sheep.
