I've been thinking about this lately too. Money is the root of all evil. My own expression is "money can make people pretty stupid."
Others struggles, losses, and injustices are too easily lost on people who are often salaried and "comfy." Actually, it's kind of breath taking how cold some can be....when they're "fat and happy."
But, I suppose the ultimate is that there was debate in the US and other parts of the world whether or not we should get involved when we knew what Hitler was doing in those interment camps. Thank goodness that the "fat and happy" didn't win out. Today, and Americans should all be aware of this....there's no one who will come to rescue us. If America goes down in terms of liberty and freedom, so will go the world. And probably, pretty quickly!
But, I'm sure, there will be someone there to tell those people that they haven't lost anything! The person say it...will be nice and "comfy." Reminiscent of "let them eat cake!"

What saddens me is people aee unwilling to look at the big picture. "Give an inch, take a mile" comes to mind...
I would love to know the age of the idiot that asked you that. They have to be in their early 20's
Crazy, right? No, an ex-coworker in her early 60's.
