Could anyone summarize this please? Sorry, I don't have the 45 minutes to get through this right now. One of the nominees, maybe this one, was being questioned in reference to a lower court appointment. She said something to the effect, "don't worry about me being Catholic, it won't impact how I do my job."
I thought....huh? Being Christian is a moral code. It tells me something about how the person might view "right" vs. "wrong." For a nominee who's not Christian, I'd certainly ask, can you please outline your own code of morality? Isn't that what these hearings are really all about? i.e. will you uphold the laws we like, and if you change something, will it be guided by the principles we like? So, for this judge to get confirmed to the lower court, in effect, she says, "I know you don't like my principles, but don't worry, I won't bring them to work."
Of course, that's the message in America today. Christians.......leave your prinicples at home. Marxists and non Christians....come in and help us re-make America, guided by your principles!
America is in trouble....and, we've been "faked" by our most recent "conservative" appointees because of all this.
I havent watched it either but I am seeing resistance from some of my christian conservative friends. Many have stated she won't do anything to change current laws affecting unborn babies.
Lately my days have been super busy so I haven't been as informed as I'd like to be on all the issues.
Well, everyone nominated seems to know "what they need to say" and how they need to say it. The proof is in the pudding, after confirmation. We've had numerous disappointments in recent times. They're all lawyers, and accordingly, they all use slippery language which is tiring to wade through...
